You are Too Big to Feel Small

Have you ever heard the phrase “believe in yourself”? I am sure you have, so have I, and yet, it took me a while to make that phrase part of my life, but I’ve done it, I overcame my lack of self-esteem. How did I do it? Understanding that I am valuable.
This article will give you three tips on how you can win a battle against the lie: “You are a nobody”. To illustrate the message, I will use myself as an example.
1. Stop thinking about yourself and start thinking about others. Helping others gives you the chance to understand that you are gifted, it opens the box where your hidden talents, and most importantly, it helps you to discover how you can be of help to somebody else.
What I did (feel free to do it) was to make a small list of things that I knew how to do and that others didn’t. For example; I wrote down: “I know how to design logos”, and with that in mind my husband and I started working together to develop logos/graphics to those who needed one. The result? Apart of the nice logo :) I discovered that I was good at helping people. I finally felt useful and valuable. My self-esteem increased.
2. Stop comparing yourself to others. This is a difficult one! But honestly, much needed. Think about your body for a second. You can’t say that the heart is the most important/best part of the body just because it pumps blood. Why? The heart wouldn’t do its fantastic job without a place to send the blood to, a functioning lung. Without the lung, the heart and blood are useless. Each organ has a purpose in the body and they need each other to make it function the way it was designed.
It is the same with you; you can’t compare yourself to others. Why? Because you have a purpose in life that no-one else can do as perfect as you do. Without you, the puzzle isn’t complete. All you need to do is to understand you are too Big to Feel Small.
3. Don’t stop dreaming: dreams do come true, but you need to act. Keep your dreams/goals alive. List each of them along with the benefit it will bring to others. This will help you to find a reason to keep fighting until you discover your purpose in life. Keeping your dreams alive will open the doors to your unknown talents.
I did stop dreaming in two occasions and nothing good came out of it. Once I brought my dreams back, I understood my purpose in life and that’s the reason you are reading this post, because my purpose in life is to help you value yourself, to embrace how valuable you are. @Embrace-It, my brand, would not exist had I not dreamt big. So, think twice before giving up your dream. Don’t give it up, Embrace it.
